Workgroups

The Family-School-Community Alliance formed three workgroups that meet regularly (monthly) to advance three key priorities (a) build a group infrastructure, (b) address research needs, and (c) promote implementation. Each workgroup meets regularly to further the goals and objectives outlined in the long-term plan for the FSCA. Members are welcome to participate in the annual, quarterly and/or regular workgroup meetings to the extent that they are interested and available. This structure allows for various levels of engagement and participation depending on interest and ability to commit to the FSCA.

Infrastructure Workgroup

Infrastructure building activities focus on building the capacity of the Family-School-Community Alliance through maintaining connected network with marketing efforts including logo development, website development, social media connections and virtual collaboration opportunities to share resources, etc.

Research Workgroup

Research activities focus on advancing three approaches (a) family-school-community topics in assessment, intervention, and longitudinal studies; (b) studies that include family and youth voice in hybrid or mixed-methods research; and (c) methods or processes that improve family and youth centered research, such as improving researchers’ ability to partner with families in design and implementation. The research workgroup is particularly interested in hybrid (implementation-effectiveness) studies, implementation research, and comparative effectiveness research.

Implementation Workgroup

Implementation activities include promoting approaches to improve adoption and implementation of evidence-based interventions. Research and implementation activities are connected so that research informs implementation and implementation drives research.

FSCA is housed within Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
